Monitor Usage Metrics and Upgrade plans from within the Akto dashboard

Users can now view all their usage metrics within the Akto dashboard. This feature also allows us to show limits as per Akto plans on the pricing page.

Introduction

Users can now view all their usage metrics within the Akto dashboard. This feature also allows us to show limits as per Akto plans on the pricing page.

Why should you measure and view usage?

Measuring usage gives a comprehensive overview of your use of Akto’s features and allows for a better allocation of your resources!

Here’s how it helps:

  1. Tracking Usage and Performance: Monitor the number of tests conducted, the endpoints tested, and any limitations or thresholds set by the platform.

  2. Optimizing for the Plan that suits your team: By viewing your usage, you can assess whether you are effectively utilizing the allocated resources within your current plan or choose a different one. Check out Akto’s plans here.

This data allows you to select a plan in accordance with your requirements. Here’s how you can do it on Akto.

View Usage on Akto

You will need to navigate to the Billing Section on Akto dashboard to see your usage. Follow these steps:

Monitor Usage Metrics

Akto allows you to track 4 key metrics in the Billing Dashboard

  1. API Collection: This tracks the number of API collections you have in total, you can view this in more detail under API Inventory > API Collections.

  2. API Endpoints: Number of API Endpoints that have been tracked by Akto from traffic.

API Endpoints and Collections are directly proportional to incoming traffic so it helps you understand your data better!

  1. Custom Tests: Number of test templates you, a user, have created.

  2. Tests Run: These are the total number of tests run on Akto.

Upgrade Plan from Akto Dashboard

Based on your usage and how many APIs your team will be testing, you can make a decision on what Plan to choose! See the process of upgrading from a plan below:

Akto Cloud

Scroll down on the Billing page to view the different options available to you-

  1. Free Plan

  2. Business Plan

  3. Enterprise Plan (Custom)

Akto Self-Hosted

Akto only allows plan upgrades on Akto Cloud! So, if you are on our Self-hosted plan, navigate to Settings and follow these steps to switch your plan:

Step 1: Copy Organization ID

Step 2: Create an Akto Cloud Account

Navigate to the Akto Cloud login page to register and create an account.

Step 3: Copy Orgnanization ID to Akto Cloud

In Akto Cloud, follow the steps mentioned in ‘View Usage’ to navigate to your Settings. Then, follow these steps:

You will now be able to choose between the plans listed in Akto Cloud.
